‘I’m a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world, life’s fantastic, in plastic…’ as a 90’s teenager, Aqua’s ‘Barbie Girl’ holds a special place in my heart. You see, I love Barbie and always wanted one when I was little girl, but had a Sindy Doll (RIP Sindy) instead. I also love Sophia Webster shoes…alot! So, Webster’s new collaboration with the iconic Barbie brand has got me pretty excited and the fact there are shoes for the mini mes too (hello matchy matchy) has me frothing with excitement.
The 9-piece Barbie by Sophia Webster collection is a roucous celebration of all the kitsch fun and brashness of Barbie, married with the effortless finesse of Sophia Webster making over some of the brand’s more iconic designs. There are six pieces for mums, inluding heels, sandals and trainers (from £150), and three adorable shrunk down versions for the kids (from £80). The colours are brash and bold, with loads of pink (obviously), neon and monochrome. The peep-toe Leah style is my absolute favourite, as it embodies classic Barbie in every way. The collection is available from 27 August at Selfridges and Sophia Webster.com.
