Are we there yet? Spring, I mean, because the chilly season has well overstayed its welcome in my style books and I’m ready to get out of my swaddled-in all winter coats for their lightweight successors, spring coats. There have been a few sunny teaser days here and there which have allowed me to rock a few of my old favourites. However, ready for all temperamental British weather eventualities, I’ve been sure to make sure I have an oversized scarf to hand or a knitted layer underneath.
This is me a few weeks ago sporting my vintage 1980s M&S jacket over my blossoming bump.
Choosing the right spring jacket, my stylish mamas, is the key to nailing trans-seasonal style. The great news is, you’re spoilt for choice, be it a thrifty high street buy or a designer splurge, there’s something for every mum. While I’m a particular fan of pattern and bold colours, utilitarian pockets and oversized silhouettes are hot this year, alongside candy coloured pastels made popular in 2014 and then there are trench coats, classic and uniformly flattering.
